BOLLYWOOD DISCO !!

Please book the night of Saturday December 4, 6-9pm for your children so they can attend the FIS End of Year and Bollywood disco organised by the 4ème D bilingual students!
The tickets are HK$95. This includes delicious Indian food and drink, but most importantly a donation towards buying a photocopier for an underprivileged school in Karikal, a former French colonial town in India. The 4D students will go there in January to take the money raised to the school.
Buying a ticket is a way of helping out children who have not been as lucky as ours and ensuring that your children spend a fun evening with their friends in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
Come dressed in Indian attire or sparkles and Bollywood glamour! Prizes for the best costumes.
Some tickets will still be on sale by the lockers on the 6th floor at break times on Monday and Tuesday of next week. Priority for 4ème and F3 students but tickets will also be sold to 5ème and 3ème students if available.
More information available from Rachael Desgouttes: rdesgouttes@lfis.edu.hk or James Titheridge: jtitheridge@lfis.edu.hk.

Hello my name is Niels and I’m 13. I was born in Paris and lived there for 8 years. I’ve been in Hong Kong for 5 years. I personally prefer Hong Kong because there is a lot more freedom. My dad is Taiwanese and my mom is French so I’m half Taiwanese and half French. My hobbies are listening and playing music because I play guitar. I also play rugby two times a week. I have two sisters (one big and one small) and one small brother. My small sister and brother are twins.
Hey guys, my name is Maud I’m 13. I’m sooo excited about the fact that I’m going to India and about the fact that I’m going to meet you all. I’m extremely tall and I love having a good laugh ! I really love reading action books. I also love dogs (I have one, he’s so cute) and horses, actually I love horse riding too. I’ve been living in Hong Kong for a little more than a year and I’m getting used to it. Before I lived in London for 7 years.

To the people IN India.
Hi, my name is Thomas. I’m 12 years old and I’ve been living in Hong Kong for 5 years now, I think it’s amazing. I really wish I could meet all of you, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to come to such a fantastic place. My favorite hobby is surfing, I’ve been doing it for a long time and I really enjoy it. Other than that I play rugby, it’s a lot of fun. And when I’m at home, I play guitar, both acoustic and electric. I’m half French, and half Danish. I can speak French, English, Danish and a bit of Chinese.

Hello fellow students,
I am addressed as Margaux, and I am aged thirteen. I love ballet, and I practice 4 hours a week, but I would prefer to do 2 hours a day. The only problem is that school is in the way, so I can’t. Anyways, I used to have boring Sundays, because I would go to my brother’s rugby training, and do pretty much nothing. So I decided to start rugby, and it became a passion for me, but I still prefer ballet. I know, ballet and rugby don’t match, so what, I like them both! I also enjoy reading and going out with my friends (shopping, eating…). My father is English, and my mother is French. I have three brothers: one is 16, the other is 15, and the youngest is 12. I was born in Hong-Kong so I am local not an expat and I think I will still be here for quite a long time.
Greetings people of planet Earth!

Who am I?
My name is Diane! I have lived in Hong Kong for my entire 13 years of youth, but I am mixed French and Chinese. I have red hair; I’m left handed and have Asian eyes, so I am a strange creation. I have an 11 year old brother who looks Asian, so people in China talk to him because they think that he can understand them, but really, he doesn’t.

Here are some questions that people ask me:

What do you like?
I like music, candy, food, computers, books and IPods. Yes, typical teenager, I know. Oh, I also like mangas.

What are you hobbies?
See above.

What do you want to be when you are older?
Well… I’ll sum it up in a few words: psychological architect with a clothing line, video game, Japanese comic series and a wide range of books.

What do you do in your free time?
Go on the Internet, write, draw, read and do forced labor like homework. Then, I write some more.

What do you think is the strangest thing about yourself?
My two copies of a recessive gene on Chromosome 16 which causes a mutation in my MC1R protein (
alpha melanocyte stimulating hormone receptor). Or, in other words, my red hair (the other way sounded much cooler though). Wait, is having voices in your head ‘strange’?

Do you like Hong Kong?
Absolutely.

What are the things you are good at?
I am good at school work, writing, drawing and observation.

What are the things you are not good at?
Faking accents. No comment.

If there was one thing you wanted to accomplish, what would it be?
Get over my fear of moths. Or invent some sort of cure for cancer.

Even though I live in China, I’m still French (and proud to be! ) The 4 things I love the most in the world are my friends and family, ice-cream( or basically eating any type of food: pizza, cookies, pasta…), traveling and swimming. I’m dying to meet you guys! The trip to India is going to be so FUN! Can’t wait for January. See you soon!

Hello! My name is Laure de Montgolfier. I am French but lived 6 years in New-York, USA, before coming to Hong-Kong. I am the eldest of a family of 4 children. I was born on August 4th, 1997, I am currently 13. I speak French, English, and I’m learning Spanish and Mandarin (Chinese).
I am not really tall, I’m small-average. I have dark brown hair, light skin and greenish or light brown eyes. I wear glasses for reading.
I travel a lot and I moved to Hong Kong for my dad’s work. I have never been to India thought and I will not visit in January with my class because I am not in Bilingual…
This is my first time in Asia and it is a big change from the cold New-York! I had a dog, Ginger, a cockapoo (mix between poodle and cocker-spaniel) in New-York but I left her in France with my grandmother because of the quarantine.
My interest are hanging out with my friends, watching movies, playing with my baby sister, ect…
I have three huge fears: spiders, sharks and rollercoaster.
Laure .
